Geometries of Power

Manipulating Islamic geometric patterns from Alhambra Palace through gestural abstraction Geometries of Power challenges the Eurocentric hierarchies in which Oriental ornamental art is seen as a minor art. The series highlights the complex position of ornament throughout the history of Western Modern art and explores common boundaries between ornament and power.
