Querida Nena

In Querida Nena the postcards that a Catalan soldier sent from the Rif front to his daughter in Barcelona in 1920´s are combined in a mosaic of 20 drawings. The loving messages of the father-soldier intersect with the reality of the Spanish occupation of Morocco, while the orientalist stereotypes, reproduced in the postcards, serve to “educate” Nena among other more obvious purposes.

Mosaic of 20 sanguine drawings on fine art paper, 124,8 cm x 113 cm
